Gonçalo Faria is a PhD student at the University of Washington, advised by Professor Noah Smith. Originally from Portugal, he previously studied at Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon, where he worked on Causal Discovery with André Martins and Mário Figueiredo. His current research focuses on creating methods to unlock the structured output space of foundation models, pushing the frontier of their capabilities beyond what standard sampling can achieve.
